Overview

The Comox Valley Campus of the North Island Hospital in the beautiful and family‑friendly Comox Valley is seeking a full‑time General Internal Medicine specialist.

Qualifications

• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) certification or equivalent.
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• May qualify for recruitment incentives through the Ministry of Health Rural Subsidy Agreement.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will join a collegial group of internists, which will include 9 general internists, 2 GIM/Intensivists, 2 respirologists, an endocrinologist and a gastroenterologist.

• Inpatient GIM coverage, including weeks of telemetry unit and ICU coverage.
• Participation in the medicine call schedule (mandatory) with an aspirational 1:9 or 1:10 frequency of night call covering the community‑level ICU.
