Opportunity Description

Take on a critical role as an Automation Technician, focusing on maximizing equipment utilization and ensuring safety. Work full-time to drive continuous improvement within the steelmaking department.
As part of the maintenance team, you’ll report to the Director, Maintenance and Engineering. The Automation Technician is responsible for overseeing HMI’s, PLC’s, and VFD’s while leveraging mechanical and electrical expertise. Candidates should be eager to identify enhancements and uphold high standards of equipment reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance for automation equipment and safety codes
• Diagnose and repair automation issues quickly
• Lead automation projects and upgrade initiatives
• Collaborate with IT on automation network maintenance
• Mentor and uphold safety practices among team members
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Automation or Electrical focus
