Field Heavy Equipment Technician (Mechanic)

Our Transmission group is currently looking to add a Field Heavy Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to the team supporting the Waasigan Transmission Line project, based outside of Thunder Bay, ON.

Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, we are seeking an experienced and mechanically versatile Heavy Equipment Technician with hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing construction equipment. This position provides critical mechanical support to field crews on one of Canada’s largest active transmission line projects, ensuring all equipment remains operational and field crews stay productive.

Please note: this is a field‑based position working a schedule of 20 days on / 8 days off; 11‑hour days. Camp accommodations are provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Heavy Duty Equipment (Diggers, Cranes, Stringing Equipment, TimberLand, Hoggs / Davis, Moprac) used in transmission line construction operations
