POSITION OVERVIEW
Education Department at Driftpile Cree Nation is currently seeking to fill a job position of a full time Facilities Attendant. The Facilities Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment within the school greenhouse and Learning Services office. This position performs routine cleaning, maintenance, organization, and facility support duties to ensure spaces are well‑maintained, welcoming, and conducive to learning and staff productivity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Greenhouse Maintenance
- Prepare growing media, plant bulbs, seeds and cuttings, graft and bud plants, set transplants out onto the rooting media, and transplant seedlings and rooted cuttings
- Operate greenhouse water irrigation systems
- Dig, harvest, transplant and prepare plants for harvesting
- Provide information and advice to students and school staff on gardening and the care of plants
