ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Summary You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Technical Support Branch, Code 135.1, of the Nondestructive Test Division, Code 135, of the Quality Assurance Office of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will exercise technical responsibilities for nondestructive testing projects: performing inspections and evaluating specific nonstandard NDT inspections. You will provide technical guidance and support to other NOT examiners and other Shipyard personnel, NAVSEA, and contractors, in the use and application of nuclear and nonnuclear NDT procedures. You will investigate nuclear and non-nuclear NDT applications for new/changed test requirements and design of new/changed NDT procedures and methods.
