ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NAVAL ARCHITECT)

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NAVAL ARCHITECT) in the HULL STRUCTURE BRANCH (250.1), STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DIVISION of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will negotiate and justify projects to managers on conflicting priorities such as meeting technical requirements, standards and funding, scheduling or operational constraints to meet goals and objectives. You will utilize engineering drawings, technical manuals, and/or other technical materials in the performance of naval architectural work. You will develop plans associated with the functional design, performance and evaluation of various underwater structural systems. You will negotiate and justify projects to managers on conflicting priorities. You will be working 2nd shift.
