Emergency Community Support Fund Lead – PEI Charities

United Way of Prince Edward Island and Community Foundation of PEI to deliver Emergency Community Support Fund to Island charities

The United Way of Prince Edward Island and the Community Foundation of PEI (CFPEI) will provide a combined funding of $585,000 to support PEI charities responding to COVID-19. This initiative is part of a partnership with Community Foundations of Canada, United Way Centraide Canada, and the Canadian Red Cross, funded through the Government of Canada's $350M Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF).

This national effort aims to support vulnerable populations disproportionately affected by COVID-19. Vulnerable groups are less prepared to deal with the health, social, and economic impacts of the pandemic, increasing the need for critical community-based supports. The ECSF will assist registered charities in providing essential services during this period.
