Course description: ECE496Y is a full-year course required for all fourth-year electrical and computer engineering students, allowing them to integrate the knowledge acquired over the first three years of study in the planning and execution of a project proposed either by the student or by a supervisor.

Class schedule: Students attend an introductory lecture and one or two subsequent lectures. Otherwise, students work in teams, meeting with their supervisors and administrators on an individually determined schedule.

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027

Hours: Fall term: Up to 12 hours – total number of hours in each contract will depend on tutor availability. Winter term: Up to 12 hours.
