The Weeneebayko-Queen's Health Education Campus Initiative is a partnership grounded in Indigenous self-determination and community leadership, led by the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) and Queen’s University's Faculty of Health Sciences (QHS). Rooted in the lands and waters of the Weeneebayko region, the initiative seeks to strengthen community-based education pathways that support Indigenous youth in pursuing and thriving within health professions. The Director provides holistic and relational leadership across all stages of the initiative, from co-creating programs with communities to supporting learners on their journey from acceptance through to graduation.
This work is guided by Indigenous ways of knowing, being, doing, and relating, and is anchored in respect for the knowledge systems, languages, and governance of the First Nations in the region.
