Design Engineering (Santiago Mexquititlán Barrio 1ro)

Responsibilities

• Engine the following components and systems from initial design concept through full volume production: Body‑in‑white, body closure sheet metal and hinging, fascia/bumper, underbody shield and wheel liners, cladding & flares, body exterior (moldings, badges, decals and vents), front lighting, electrical and signal lighting, fixed glass/wipers, fuel door components/systems.
• Interface and coordinate the packaging with product design office, vehicle development, exterior and body engineering teams, adjacent departments (electromechanical, electrical, lighting, trim) and suppliers to design, develop and release these components/systems.
• Provide feasibility input for development of designs from Product Design Office concepts, sketches, and clay models.
• Lead quality improvements, weight reduction, cost reduction and other efficiency improvement initiatives and communicate technical product status to management.
