Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Teacher

10-Month Position

Commences September 2026 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


+ Provide direct instruction to students that are deaf and/or hearing impaired

+ Monitor how hearing loss impacts access to classroom instruction

+ Support the use of hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM/OM systems

+ Build confidence in explaining their hearing loss and communication needs

+ Promote independence in managing hearing technology

+ Consult with teachers, staff, interpreters, parents


Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


+ NYS Certification as a Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Teacher
