Overview
We are strengthening enterprise-wide data governance using Microsoft Purview in a low‑maturity environment (no catalog, inventory, or formal definitions today). This is a hands‑on, execution-focused role: configure scans and classification, validate results, and implement retention/disposition settings while collaborating closely with the BSA, data stewards, architects, and compliance. The position requires practical ownership of governance configuration and validation work, but the hiring approach accepts two realistic market tradeoffs given the current budget (see Recruiter Guidance).
Must‑Haves
- 5+ years in data governance, metadata management, or senior data engineering with governance responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience configuring Microsoft Purview OR proven, hands-on experience implementing governance in Collibra or Informatica (must include tool configuration tasks, not just advisory exposure).
