Introduction
The Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS) prosecutes persons charged under the Criminal Code, Youth Criminal Justice Act, and provincial statutes. ACPS works to promote safe communities by vigorously prosecuting serious and violent crime and collaborating with stakeholders to improve criminal justice administration.
Responsibilities
- Advance and respond to acquittal, conviction and sentence appeals before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
- Prepare recommendations for Crown appeals and provide legal advice within ACPS.
