Lead with purpose as a Captain at the Correctional Facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Oversee operations, ensure safety, and guide correctional staff in this critical role.
The Department of Justice is seeking an experienced Captain to supervise Correctional Workers and ensure the safety of individuals in custody. In addition to daily security inspections, you will manage staff development, shift scheduling, and participate in recruitment efforts. Your leadership will contribute to vital correctional programs and effective custody management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations of the correctional facility
• Maintain facility cleanliness and security standards
• Manage admissions and discharges for individuals in custody
• Supervise staff and allocate resources efficiently
• Chair Unit Review Boards in compliance with policy
Requirements:
• High school diploma and Correctional Officer certificate
