Opportunity Description
Agnico Eagle Mines is seeking a dedicated Exploration Core Technician to support exploration activities at the Detour Lake mine in Ontario. Become integral in handling, processing, and sampling diamond drill cores while maintaining safety and efficiency.
The Exploration Core Technician reports to the Exploration Superintendent and plays a crucial role in the Surface Exploration Department. This position requires experience in cutting drill core, following safety protocols, and utilizing Microsoft Office applications. Your tasks will include sample processing and supporting geologists in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and process drill core from sites
• Cut and sample according to QA/QC processes
• Maintain accurate logs and spreadsheets
• Operate forklift safely within mining operations
• Support geologists and improve environmental performance
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with drill core in mining settings
