Contract Specialist

Summary This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Procurement Operations (OPO). The purpose of this position is to serve as a senior contract specialist responsible for pre-award and/or post award and will be responsible to plan, direct, and administer the most complex and major acquisitions which are Department-wide in scope. OPO's mission is to obtain best value products/services and improve acquisition processes. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position. Responsibilities As a Contract Specialist, GS-1102-13/14, your typical work assignments may include: Serving as a Contracting Officer authorized to solicit contract proposals, negotiate, enter into, execute, and administer/terminate difficult public contracts for DHS.
