The Trust is seeking to appoint one substantive 10 PA Consultant Gastroenterologist. This appointment will join the existing 16 Gastroenterologists. The post holder will be expected to work across the Trust’s 3 sites: Andover War Memorial Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
The current consultants provide sub-specialty interests in upper and lower therapeutic endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, nutrition, pancreatobiliary, and motility/functional disease. Existing services include bowel cancer screening, ERCP and SpyGlass, endoscopic ultrasound, advanced GI physiology, and capsule endoscopy.
The post holder will be involved with in-patient gastroenterology and GIM and participate in approximately 1:9 acute GI bleed on-call alongside a 7-day inpatient service in Basingstoke, reviewing new admissions that require Gastroenterology input over the weekend.<...
