Construction Equipment Mechanic

Reporting to the Equipment Manager, the Construction Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of tools and equipment located at the Equipment Yard in Transcona.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of construction tools and equipment (e.g., oil changes, blade and belt changes, cord and hose repairs, engine repairs).
• Repair or replace parts on tools and equipment and triage to third‑party providers when necessary.
• Source and order parts as needed.
• Disassemble and reassemble tools and equipment.
• Conduct daily inspections of tools, materials, and equipment at the yard.
• Test tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Maintain towable equipment and trailer wiring.
• Control inventory of equipment, materials, and tools, including numbering and decaling.
