Position Summary
School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking applications for Casual Indigenous Education Advocates to support Indigenous students in the Vanderhoof area, including Mapes. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide cultural, language, and social-emotional support to Indigenous students
- Act as a positive Indigenous role model and promote pride in Indigenous culture
- Collaborate with teachers to support students’ academic, cultural, and emotional needs
- Communicate with families and guardians to promote student success
- Advocate for students and participate in school-based teams as needed
- Submit regular administrative reports to the school and Indigenous Education Department
