Position Summary

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking applications for Casual Indigenous Education Advocates to support Indigenous students in the Burns Lake area, including Decker Lake, Francois Lake, Granisle and Grassy Plains. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cultural, language, and social‑emotional support to Indigenous students
  • Act as a positive Indigenous role model and promote pride in Indigenous culture
  • Collaborate with teachers to support students’ academic, cultural, and emotional needs
  • Communicate with families and guardians to promote student success
  • Advocate for students and participate in school‑based teams as needed
  • Submit regular administrative reports to the school and Indigenous Education Department
