Position Overview

Permanent 0.6 FTE Child and Adolescent Psychiatry position within the South Island Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Island Health, serving Greater Victoria.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric consultation to the emergency department and Pediatric Inpatient Unit at VGH.
• Manage pharmacotherapy of Mental Health and Substance Use conditions for children and youth admitted under pediatric psychiatry.
• Collaborate with mental health crisis team, pediatricians, emergency department physicians, patient transfer network and other care team providers.
• Attend quality meetings.
• Participate in program development and division meetings.
