Work setting: Urban research institute, laboratory or centre

Must be bilingual.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, synthesize, purify, modify and characterize chemical or biochemical compounds.
• Conduct research into the synthesis and properties of chemical compounds and the mechanisms of chemical reactions.
• Apply analytical techniques such as chromatography and physical separation methods.
• Utilize computational and database software, including MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Windows.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in industrial processes or product development.
• Specialization in organic chemistry.
• Proficiency with chromatography, physical separation techniques, and spectroscopic methods.
