Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.

Work setting: Urban area. Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio.

Responsibilities

• Book appointments.
• Cut and trim hair according to the client's instructions or preferences.
• Shampoo customers' hair.
• Shave and trim beards and mustaches.
• Provide other hair treatments such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages.
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair.
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair.
• Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences.
• Perform receptionist duties.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Barbering Trade Certification, Hairstylist Trade Certification, Barber Licence.
