Role Overview
Our Toronto office is currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant in our Financial Services Department providing a variety of routine legal and administrative duties in Corporate/Commercial Real Estate.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in management of lawyer’s practice, e.g., opening files, filing, arranging meetings, arranging travel and/or accommodations.
- Managing calendar and keeping lawyers apprised of ongoing and outstanding matters.
- Preparing legal documents from written and oral instructions and precedents.
- Drafting routine correspondence on behalf of lawyer.
- Applying proofreading and editing skills to documents and correspondence.
- Completing closing reports.
- Liaising with clients, lawyers, and colleagues to obtain information and instructions.
- Entering dockets, preparing trust receipts and third‑party invoices.
