Research Focus

• Investigate how knowledge linking ship design, construction, and operation can be represented in a single coherent structure across multiple instances of a vessel.
• Examine ontology, knowledge graph, graph database, multi‑taxonomy database and hybrid approaches and evaluate their suitability for AI‑assisted inference.
• Develop representations that support inference of missing information, consequences of changes, and dependencies among components and systems.
• Turn operational and design data from many vessels into a shared body of knowledge that informs new designs.
