Advanced Practice Nurse-Surgical Service

Summary The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced evidence based care for patients in the General, Vascular and Thoracic (GVT) surgery clinics with additional support and Podiatry clinic as needed. The Nurse Practitioner evaluates, treats, and coordinates care across the perioperative continuum ensuring timely access high quality clinical outcomes and collaborative multidisciplinary care. Responsibilities Duties include: Clinical Care Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for preoperative postoperative and established surgical patients in General, Vascular and Thoracic (GVT)surgery formulate differential Diagnosis, order and interpret diagnostic test, and develop evidence based treatment plans. Manage perioperative care including wound care medication management post surgical follow up and coordination of specialty referrals.
