Emergency Department Admitting Representative
Key Responsibilities
+ Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and medical information to ensure accurate registration and reimbursement.
+ Utilize EPIC to complete patient intake, pre-registration, and demographic verification processes.
+ Confirm insurance eligibility and benefits, including HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medicaid coverage plans.
+ Identify services requiring prior authorization and coordinate approvals, referrals, and treatment authorizations.
+ Process claims-related requests, attach referrals, and ensure all required documentation is obtained before services are rendered.
+ Authorize patient admissions and coordinate bed placement activities in collaboration with clinical and case management teams.
