Accounting Technician

Summary The incumbent of this position will serve as an Accounting Technician for the VISN 7 Consolidated Accounting Office (CAO). This position will be split into two primary FMS access functions: Obligators and Payers. Incumbent will be expected to perform either function as assigned. Responsibilities The Accounting Technician performs a variety of technical accounting support functions within the Financial Management program. Duties include, but are not limited to: Reviews, analyzes, and processes accounting transactions related to financial operations in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. Examines accounting documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal financial management requirements. Maintains and reconciles financial records, accounts, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy of accounting data.
