Qualifications and Experience

The successful teacher will demonstrate the following: A clear understanding of the characteristics of the intermediate student and the ability to develop a positive learning environment addressing the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of intermediate studentsDemonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess and plan an intermediate programA wide repertoire of strategies addressing assessment (formative, summative, peer and self)A proven ability to frame the curriculum and classroom management around equity, diversity, inclusivity, and reconciliationKnowledge and experience in working with learners with varying needs and support staff; demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction in the classroom Hold a valid BC teaching certificateKnowledge and experience in adapting learning objectives and strategies to meet the needs of English Language Learners at varying needsStrong interpersonal, communication and collaborative sk...
